Process Refunds and Returns
Refund a sale, full or partial, and put stock back.
Refunds reverse a sale and put stock back on the shelf. SmartSell supports full and partial refunds.
When to use this
When a customer returns a defective item, changes their mind, or was overcharged.
Step-by-step
- Open Sales.
- Find the sale. Search by receipt number, date or customer.
- Tap Refund.
- Full or partial. Select items and quantities for partial refunds.
- Choose refund method. Cash, mobile money, or store credit.
- Confirm. Stock returns and the refund is recorded.
Common issues
- Cannot find sale: widen the date range or search by customer phone.
- Stock not returned: the item was set non-returnable. Adjust the product settings.
