Troubleshooting POS Bootstrap Issues

When the POS screen gets stuck loading or fails to open.

Bootstrap is the first step when you open the POS: it loads your catalog, customers and prices onto the device.

When to use this

When the POS shows a spinner forever, or when you see a bootstrap error.

Step-by-step

  1. Check internet. First login needs a connection.
  2. Select a branch. POS will not bootstrap without one.
  3. Pull to refresh. Swipe down on the POS screen to retry.
  4. Log out and back in. This resets the bootstrap cache.
  5. Clear app cache. Phone Settings > Apps > SmartSell > Clear Cache.

Common issues

  • Token expired: log out and log in again with your phone and password.
  • Slow network: wait up to 30 seconds, especially on first load.
